Thunder Ridge
[40, 26]
is an area located in the land of Durotar, just southwest of Orgrimmar.
This breathtaking gorge is untamed by humanoids as yet. Thunder lizards give the place its name, dominating the landscape for some distance. Tallstriders are also seen hanging out on the fringes with an eye out for an easy lunch.[1] (WRPG 197,198) The ridge is home to behemoth lightning lizards, which help to obscure the presence of the Burning Blade here, led by the goblin warlock Fizzle Darkstorm.[2] (LoM 35)
Shortly after the founding of Durotar, Rexxar and his companions journeyed to Thunder Ridge to obtain shimmerweed for Drek'Thar, Thrall's Far Seer. Rexxar noticed a change in the lizard's behavior, and informed Drek'Thar upon his return to Orgrimmar. Drek'Thar and Rexxar later discovered a human lumber operation that was deforesting the ridge and driving the lizards mad. Rexxar suggested that they destroy the lumber mill, but Drek'thar refused, because the Horde had signed a non-aggression pact with the humans. They were instead forced to put down the lizards to prevent disaster.
New thunder lizards named Lightning Hides have moved into the ridge. Fizzle Darkstorm has set up camp in the ridge along with a handful of his followers.
