Thunderfury

Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker is the reward from the quest Rise, Thunderfury! [1], however, this is the end of a quest chain. Essentially, it "drops" from Thunderaan, Prince of Air.

This quest chain begins when you loot either the Left [2] or the Right [3] half of the Bindings of the Windseeker, which drop off Baron Geddon and Garr in Molten Core. Upon looting one of these, you must travel to Silithus and talk with the Highlord Demetrian, who will then give you the Vessel of Rebirth [4], which will start the quest chain.

The next quest requires you to present to Demetrian both Bindings, as well as the Essence of the Firelord and 10 Elementium bars. Thus, the quest requires 100 Arcanite bars.

When you return with the required items to Demetrian he summons Thunderaan, which promptly attacks you. Bring a raid. Upon defeating Thunderaan you receive a Dormant Wind-Kissed Blade [5]. Deliver this to (the now rather cowed) Highlord, and he will make Thunderfury for you.

The blade in action is indubitably the best 1H weapon currently (as of patch 1.10) in the game, to a large degree due to the proc. According to the guild Immortality [6] on Skullcrusher (and demonstrated in videos) the proc rate is about 30%, in effect adding almost 100 nature to each hit. This proc works on almost all mobs including Molten Core and Blackwing Lair bosses, with the exception of certain mobs and bosses in The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj that are immune to nature damage. Keep in mind that Thunderfury's proc was indirectly nerfed in 1.9 so that this proc didn't give a chance for another proc, therefore reducing the number of times this weapon activates. This weapon will not proc as much as it did prior to 1.9.
