Timewalking mode Timewalking (also known as "Timewalking mode") is an instance mode where a player character's attributes and gear have been scaled down to match the rough equivalent of what it would be for the dungeon if played at the appropriate level (adjusted down to the level of the Heroic dungeon), however the character retains all abilities and talents. Drops in timewalking instances are scaled up from their original power and stats as Timewarped gear. Timewalking Dungeon Events typically occur once every three weeks and last for 7 days.

In Patch 7.2.5, the first timewalking raid was introduced with Black Temple being available. Patch 7.3.5 added the second timewalking raid of Ulduar. The timewalking raids are only available during their respective expansion Timewalking Dungeon Event.

However, the process on how to enter the timewalking version of the raid is different than the dungeons. Players can not queue for these via the Dungeon or Raid Finder but form a pre-made raid group of at least 10 players (a max of 30). The Raid Leader triggers a queue by talking to a specific NPC in either Shattrath City for Black Temple or Dalaran for Ulduar, which will pull all group members into the instance regardless of their current location, just like the Dungeon or Raid Finders.
