The Tower of Althalaxx

The Tower of Althalaxx after the Cataclysm
In the time of the Great Sundering, Queen Azshara brought her favored servitors, those of the Highborne, to the twin towns of Ameth'Aran and Bashal'Aran. To govern these towns, Azshara placed Athrikus Narassin, an elf of considerable magical power. Athrikus was at first loyal to his queen, but eventually he grew bored of his post, and would spend most of his days in the Tower of Althalaxx
[56, 26], some ways removed of the towns.
10,000 years later, a dark theory about the Tower of Althalaxx has proven true: A cult gathered at the tower with many warlocks amongst their number, even including a foul satyr. They called themselves the Cult of the Dark Strand, and were lead[1] by Athrikus, although why they were assembling at that time is a dark mystery.

As of the Cataclysm, the Horde have destroyed much of the tower with catapults and slaughterd the remaining Dark Strand cultists, whose bodies now dots the area around and inside the tower. Meanwhile, a group of looting Forsaken, lead by Teegan Holloway are searching through the remnants of the tower for the dead Highborne and Dark Strand leader Athrikus Narassin 's research.[2]

Another theory came up that the Horde had nothing to do with it, it was all a mistake in the dark magic, as the nearby trees are leaning away from the tower..[citation needed]
