Undead elves (sometimes called undead high elves) are a subrace of the Forsaken, but also undead humanoids, in general. They are one of that undead amalgamation's key members, with representatives serving as high and powerful members up to and including their leadership, Horde Warchief Sylvanas Windrunner. The distinction between them and most of the formerly human Forsaken as political or racial entities is not often made.

Members of this subrace were mostly once high elves who suffered under the onslaught of the Lich King and his Scourge. As the undead ransacked Quel'Thalas and raised numerous elves, including notable members, as slaves and soldiers. Following the release of the enslaved Windrunner from the service of the Lich King, many of the the undead elves regained their free will and similarly seceded. Some members of this subrace formed the elite Dark ranger corps of the Forsaken military.

Appearance

Undead elves are known for having pale, almost bloodless skin. Other members of this race possess glowing eyes.
