VanCleef is the family name of a prominent family of Stormwind masons headed by Edwin VanCleef. Edwin was a member of the Stonemason's Guild in Stormwind City and became the leader of the guild in exile which led to the formation of the Defias Brotherhood. Edwin was killed by a group of adventures on the ship being built deep in the Ironclad Cove of the Deadmines, but his daughter, Vanessa VanCleef, rebuilt the Defias Brotherhood and re-occupied the Deadmines.
