Volunteer Guard Day is a micro-holiday introduced with Patch 7.1.5 that takes place on April 28.[1]
Players are expected to be able to take on the appearance and "role" of their faction city's guard via using the /salute emote.[citation needed] Once performed, they will don the appearance of the guard. Patrolling the city will reveal various mobs and NPCs they need to defeat.[citation needed]
Official preview description[]
“ | Step into the shoes of a guard in the major cities with a /salute and you'll get to serve and protect the city just like them. Stay vigilant and watch out for any invaders.
