This article or section contains lore taken from Warcraft novels or short stories.

Waryk was a lieutenant under the command of Major Remka. He was the leader of the group that captured Thrall and put him in an internment camp. He reprimanded Hult for trying to steal a knife in Thrall's posession and questioned Thrall as to whether he could read. Waryk himself was unable to read and write, but dreamed of being able to one day, leading his cohorts to tease him for "dreaming above his station". He was significantly kinder and gentler towards the orcs than other guards.

Waryk had evidently seen Thrall's gladiator duels, as he thought Thrall looked familiar, but was unable to recall where he had seen him before. He was later promoted, replacing the newly demoted Lieutenant Remka, as commander of an internment camp.[1] (LotC 94-96, 98, 105, 113)
