Wildbend River
The Wildbend River is a tainted river in the southern part of Darkshore, near the Grove of the Ancients. The river is tainted at its source, which lies in nearby corrupted Felwood. The taint is carried downstream with the river and is partly responsible for the similar corruption of the landscape, wildlife, and Furbolg tribes in Darkshore. Swimming in the river is not recommended.Weirdly, the river does not reach the sea like all other rivers in game.

Wildbend River under attack
Wildbend River becomes the last stand for the night elves before the Horde are able to push further into Darkshore in their march to Teldrassil during the War of the Thorns. Despite valiantly fighting, even with the aid of Malfurion Stormrage, the defenses ultimately fail.
Malfurion Stormrage fights Sylvanas Windrunner near the Wildbend in the final moments of the War, attempting to stall the Horde as long as possible so his people may escape Teldrassil. He is struck down from behind by Varok Saurfang, but taken by Tyrande Whisperwind to Stormwind City before he can succumb to his injuries.
