The Windrunner family is a prominent high elf and half-elf family. Their residence was a spire in a village both named after them in what is now known as the Ghostlands. Some members are in Honor Hold and in the Undercity. The family is now based in the Silver Enclave of Dalaran.
History[]
Many consider the Windrunner family as the most tragic family in Warcraft lore. Several members of the family were killed by the orcs during the Second War, including the sisters' parents, their youngest brother Lirath, along with numerous relatives of varying proximity.[1] This prompted Alleria to join the Alliance Expedition in order to avenge them, which she later disappeared with.[2] The rest of the family was one of the hardest hit by the Scourge invasion into Quel'Thalas.[3] Sylvanas was killed by Arthas and raised as a banshee in his service, later becoming Banshee Queen of the Forsaken.[4][5] The sisters' grandfather had to battle his own son, their uncle, after he was turned into an undead. A younger brother was torn to pieces by their older brother who was then himself burned with the rest of the Scourge by elven resistance fighters.[3]
Vereesa was instrumental in the freeing of Alexstrasza at Grim Batol.

Alleria (and 
Turalyon) - Alleria was a Ranger and Turalyon was a General during the Second War and were part of the expedition of Draenor. Current location unknown. In Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Inlinegfx/img_link_data.json' not found. Legion, it is rumored she will return in the Suramar questline. There is no proof of this as of Patch 7.1.5.
- Arator the Redeemer - Son of Alleria and Turalyon.
- Sylvanas - Ranger General of Silvermoon during both the Second and Third Wars. Now Banshee Queen of the Forsaken. In Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Inlinegfx/img_link_data.json' not found. Legion, she becomes the new Warchief of the Horde.
- Vereesa (and Rhonin) - Vereesa is Ranger General of the Silver Covenant and Rhonin used to rule Dalaran.
- Lirath - Killed during the Second War.
- Zendarin - Cousin of the three sisters and Lirath.

Sylvos Windrunner is used as a random name for a blood mage hero in Warcraft III. His surname fuels speculation that there may be a relative that has not been brought into the storyline yet.
