The WoWWiki experts approval or change process will be a straightforward consensus process with an admin interpreting the comments to decide if an expert should be approved or changed. This process is in place for users who may not have been selected as an expert, but feel they meet the requirements. Feel free to discuss any changes to the process you would like to recommend.
Approval process
To get approved the candidate must have a section on the signup page.
- Admins will review the editing history of the potential expert as it relates to the desired category. History of interaction with other members of the community will also play a role.
- Community members may also weigh in on the decision.
- As usual, sockpuppets or other means of gaming the system will result in disqualification (likely permanent).
- Admins will decide on approval based on history and/or comments and try to seek consensus.
- Once an expert is chosen, their signup section will be archived.
Change process
The signup page will also be used for requests by other users to remove an expert.
- Admins will review comments made by users about the current expert in question. Current experts of the category (if any) may also review the comments.
- As usual, sockpuppets or other means of gaming the system will result in disqualification (likely permanent).
- Admins and the current category expert(s) will decide to keep the expert in question based on comments and try to seek consensus.
- After the decision is made, the comments will be archived.
